Specification for a station inspired by plants

From this I learned what the company wanted in their stations and what was required to meet their standards.

Initial ideas for the plant station

This taught me how different stations could look and what can be taken to be explored to look better and fit the specification fully.

Explore 1 for the plant station

From this page I learnt how to explore and develop the roof and seat of the station looking into different shapes and materials to be used.

Explore 2 for the plant station

Further looking into the station in explore 2 I discovered adding a flooring and how this would end up looking, with the different shapes and ideas of this. I also started my exploration into the walls of the mushroom design.

Explore 3 for the plant station

In the final page of exploration I learnt different table and wall shapes and what outcome would be the best overall, also looking into if the strip should be a window or shelf and which had the better qualities to it.

Specification for a playpark piece for children

The specification helped me have an understanding of what the company wanted and the market/sizes it should be aimed at.

Initial ideas for playpark

Within the initial ideas process of the playpark, I was able to discover different outcomes of the playpark from the information given by the brief showing multiple ways it can be presented.

Explore for playpark

In this explore page, I learnt how my model for the chain on the swing size affects how it would work and if thickness affected this too, I also started looking into slide and seat shapes and which would be best in the design.

Plan for manufacture for playpark

From this page it taught me how to summarise to a manufacturer every size of every piece needs to be for the design to work efficiently also letting the manufacturer know what materials to use and what process should be used to stay within the company's budget.

Sketchbook drawings of hairdryers

Sketching different hairdryers taught me which one looked sleek and best presentable but also easy for a consumer to understand and store safely at home.

CAD orthographic drawing of hairdryer

A ergonomically better hand grip and the head of the hairdryer can tilt for the consumers preferred angle and also wireless so no need to have a cable

The orthographic let me know each size of which parts were selected. It also gave me a understanding of CAD technology and how to present a model made through this programme as a orthographic drawing.

Poster for hairdryer

The making of the poster let me discover different colours and patterns which made the hairdryer stand out to the public intriguing them to buy this product.

Apple watch SE exploded isometric sketch

I learned how to create an exploded isometric sketch which allows me to gain a better understanding of how components interact with one another.

Apple watch SE plan for manufacture

From this plan for manufacture i was able to get a better understanding on how the Apple watch was made and the materials used for it.

One point perspective of a living room

Sketching a one point perspective of a living room let me understand proportion and scale in a real life setting, I had to understand how each object in the room lined up and how each item needed to inside the room to the one point perspective. To allow me to understand more how one point perspective works I took inspiration from my own living room for a clearer understanding.

One point perspective of a bedroom

In this drawing of a bedroom I learnt how to understand the space of the room and to try make all furniture fit within the room. I had to understand that all furniture would be drawn differently when considering one point perspective.

Sketchbook drawings of different headphones

Sketching different models of headphones taught me how different styles of headphones are different and drawing them from another angle can affect the way it need to be drawn.

Sketchbook drawings of different chairs

Taking time to research other chairs i learnt the very broad range of chairs already in the world and took inspiration from there to create 5 very different chairs from one another, each with different qualities to them.

Craftwork

When undertaking the National 5 practical woodwork course I had to make the above models, in doing so I learnt many skills within a workshop including working with hand tools, working fixed machinery and much more, letting me have a bigger knowledge on how a product can be made when given to be manufactured.
