Redesigning Reddit's Create Post dialog with a clear, two-step flow.

Currently Reddit places the community selector above the main form, and it's not obvious that choosing a community changes the panel on right. With this concept I wanted to explore pulling the community selector out into its own distinct step.

This makes it easier to understand why there is a panel on the right, what its intent is, while still making it really easy to jump in and create your post.

This design makes it clear that there are 2 distinct steps when you create a post, and it also helps communicate that the community you share with has its own rules, separate from Reddit's own rules.
