Musik - Design Rationale
The Problem
While the initial music player design is underway, user feedback has highlighted a strong demand for lyrics display during song playback. The objective is to effortlessly integrate a lyrics component into the existing design while remaining aligned with the defined artistic direction and design principles in order to increase the app's appeal and elevate the user experience.
Previous Design
My Process
Separate Lyrics Component
Given that the previous design incorporated an icon with "Iconic Memory Bias," the designer expected that people would quickly recognise and understand icons without clear or universally recognised visual cues.
Different Viewing Options
The lyrics component includes two viewing options: one is a brief enlargement of the original component with modest design modifications while retaining visual hierarchy, and the other is a complete preview of the lyrics with better visuals.
Smooth transitions
Including a transition that is not extremely violent, quick, or irregular, causing pain or nausea in certain individuals, often known as "Motion Sickness" or "Visual Discomfort."
