This is a university project that was created for a module called Graphic and Communication Media. We were tasked with revealing an 'ugly truth' that effects today's world and society. Then, by using speculative and critical design, we had to visualize a solution. I chose screen dependency disorder as my ugly truth, a phrase used to describe the addiction we as a society have to our devices, which can lead to a number of physical and mental issues. To combat this, Screen Addicts Anonymous was created, an organisation and support group for those who suffer from screen dependency disorder.

The page above shows how the out-of-home PSA campaign links with the website. By scanning the bar codes found on the posters, a link for the website will appear on the users device. Clicking on the link will then take the user to a landing page which uses the front camera to display the users face with a filter applied. The filter exaggerates the long term effects of screen addiction in a way that shocks and hopefully convinces the user of the damage their phone can do.
