Dashboards and Landers

Enterprise software is only as good as the insights that you can provide the users. For this reason, dashboards and landers and critical to guiding user workflow. These are a few examples showing a variety of use cases. It can be hard to find business software inspiration and I hope to take part in changing that trend.

User Specific Platform Lander

This lander is meant to key off the user session to show information that will help that user make decisions and drive workflow. At a glance they can quickly assess their open tasks, view the state of their asset and drill through to their reports. Summaries and visual representations of data are critical to quick understanding.

Job Execution Lander

This application orchestrates jobs across the platform. This lander helps the user see the status of their jobs, see errors for quicker resolution and see the processing jobs to monitor their progress without having to drill into the full job list.

Data Migration Planner

This is the first step for a data migration execution. This allows the user to create groups for their data objects so that they can plan their execution based on the project needs.

Data Migration Dashboard

This visual is not out of date as this sort of colorful flat design is no longer trending but I wanted to include it as part of the examples. This dashboard reports the state and status of the data migration, showing its progress, errors, milestones, waves, etc. Upper management would probably receive this via email or notification and stop here, while data workers would use this as a launchpad to drill down into the area or interest, driving workflow.

Six Sigma Driven Dashboard

This is an even older example of a dashboard that is also outdated style-wise, but it's interesting to include as the requirement was to start from six sigma representation of different quality dimensions (completeness, uniqueness, validity, etc.). From here, the user could click to see the overview and then pivot to see the metrics for each dimension and further drill down to the individual record level.
