Design systems are an effective way to speed up output. But it isn't always easy to use design systems, even more difficult to build them. To build a design system the right way, having spent a little bit of time designing the initial few screens for a product, then taking inventory of what is repeatedly being used is the biggest chance at success. Starting with a design system may not bring the right outcome.

Foundations are used as atoms in a DS or DLS (Design Language System) to build molecules/components.
