Work Order Management Re-Design
The Goal
The aim of this project was to create a tool that helps property managers & maintenance supervisors streamline their operations by introducing a better way to create, find, manage, and monitor multiple work orders.
I designed a two-sided product featuring a detailed yet user-friendly dashboard for Property Managers and a straightforward mobile interface for Technicians. This mini case study will focus on the property manager side of the product.
Improved Layout
The initial product version employed technician swim lanes, causing challenges for Property Managers and supervisors to quickly find and identify the progress of a work order. Also, a recurring issue found through studying user behavior showed users having to navigating through multiple work orders to modify status and priority, along with the need for constant manual reassignment through drag-and-drop actions.
Solution
Work orders are organized through status tabs
Quick toggle and multi select capabilities
Improved search and filtering
Advanced Analytics
Property managers expressed a desire for an analytics dashboard that provides a comprehensive yet user-friendly overview of key metrics associated with work orders. This new dashboard empowers them to make data-driven decisions with powerful insights into work order completion and technician efficiency.
