Porthole Wall Sculpture
This is part of my porthole series, where I create colors and patterns on metal using different chemicals—in a sense, painting with chemical reactions.
The Segmented ring is made of Wenge and accented with Padauk; the disc is steel patinated with various chemical reactions and sealed in with a clear satin coat.
The sculpture hangs on a small wooden Fremch cleat
This project was done in my Colorado Furniture Design Studio.
