Tiktok Stash

Tiktok Stash

Tiktok has increased in users since it's launch and is now used as a main source of entertainment for users with nearly 50% (49.1%) of their users being between the ages of 18-34. Due to this growth and the ability for creators to post videos up to ten minutes in length, Youtube is a main competitor for Tiktok's continued growth.

Youtube allows users to download videos for later use, extending their viewers to those who are offline or have weak connection for periods of time. 71% of users in my research stated that experiencing a weak connection and long loading times while navigating Tiktok will result in them closing the application. This opens an opportunity for users to save videos for later viewing when they are traveling or experience that ever-frustrating weak connection.

Tiktok Stashes are customizable and allow a user to select the amount of content they want saved, and whether they want randomized 'for you' content or a tailored collection of tag-based content. Paired with the ability to quickly manage the stashed content, Tiktok Stashes is an efficient way for Tiktok to give users more viewing capacity and compete with the current market.
