Scenario: A traveler is in an airport waiting for the last leg of a flight home when their flight gets abruptly canceled due to bad weather.

Challenge: Write a message from the airline app notifying them of the cancellation and what they need to do next.

Error State

An illustrated error page for a portfolio website featuring a call-to-action that redirects the user to view the designer's work.

Empty States

Shopping Bag

Scenario: An e-commerce footwear retailer was in the process of a redesign. Upon reviewing their shopping bag, I discovered that there wasn't an empty state in the case of a user not having any items.

Solution: I created an illustration relevant to the brand depicting a sad shopping bag lamenting over not having any shoes in its bag. It was accompanied by a call-to-action prompting the user to 'Continue Shopping'. Clicking on the button will close the shopping bag.

Discount Codes

Scenario: When a user hasn't claimed any discount codes, the page was left blank without any microcopy.

Solution: I wrote microcopy to let the user know that they haven't claimed any discount codes.

Landing Page

Scenario: When a user changes the URL locale to a country site not offering a sale, the page returned a 404 error.

Solution: I created an empty state page and wrote additional microcopy (underlined in green) to inform the user that the sale isn't available. A call-to-action was also added that redirects the user to the homepage.
