Web design - Staff tools
2022-2023
Description
The Personal trainers and their managers in SATS needed new tools to mange their clients. They had an old native app, but it was outdated, and we were experiencing a lot of bugs.
We tested the existing services, interviewed PTs and their managers about their needs and issues. We talked alot about what was the most important information they needed, and what was nice to have. And the frequency and importance of their “jobs to be done”.
Based on the insight we created a new web portal for PTs where we wanted to replace the existing services and also add new services. The portal was later expanded to a general staff portal. We used access control to make sure employees get access to the services they need.
PTs mostly use iPad and phone when thy are working while other employees, like club managers and PT managers use computers more. Mobile first, quick overviews and efficiency for the users was important.
When the portal was expanded with more services we needed to redesign the menu to make it work with more options, as some employees has multiple roles. Etc. PT and PT manager, Club manager and PT manager.
We focused on using design components from the design system, and create new components that could be used across services. We also tried to optimise the design to wok on the different touch points. Etc. make buttons easy to reach and make popups fill the whole screen on mobile. The users was involved through out the whole process, and is encouraged to give feedback continuously now after launch. So that the team can improve the services.
