Secret Jungle
This one was the most complicated due to the variety of plants, layering, and the waterfall shading. I wanted to make it look like the viewer just found a secret pool with a waterfall deep within a thick jungle.
Lazy River
I wanted to show a calm day in a more open environment. I enjoyed the colors in this one, with the hibiscus and bromeliads adding contrast to the overall greenish colors.
Marsh
Making the layout for this illustration was challenging, as I debated on whether the viewer should be low to the ground or higher up. I decided to take the high end, as I wanted to show the top of the large willow tree on the right.
Midnight Swamp
I wanted to expand more with the marsh-like environment by placing the viewer closer to the water, as well as experimenting with complementary colors.
