Thesis project on Gamification Strategy
The new normal, after Covid-19, has forced us to look for learning mechanisms where technology integration helps to reinforce students’ learning, especially among adults, through activities designed for a virtual environment. Taking this context as a starting point, this educational innovation proposal tries to address the problem of high levels of desertion among Micro Degree ongoing education learners, under the B-learning method, through gamification.
This innovation proposal had as a general aim developing Micro Degree students’ motivation through the gamification of a Mexican Start up Edtech course, under the B-learning method. This way, a survey and an interview to this programme’s participants were conducted and the main precedents to Andrzej Maszewski’s gamification were reviewed, linking it to the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator to achieve a participant-focused design and, this way, to link the connectivism and constructivist learning activities.
For the pilot experience, a proposal was devised, consisting in four modules with six learning paths each, showing the gamification activities effectiveness, which generated lessons learned that should be applied in the execution of the education innovation proposal.
Key words: Online learning, motivation, gamification, blended-learning.
