If the MeowWolf Vortex Music Festival had an app...
I originally completed this festival app concept design with an awesome small team, but I recently went back and redesigned the entire application myself following the brand guidelines and styling that MeowWolf uses on their website and advertising. This first gif show the homepage design with some of the simple motion design that MeowWolf likes to use on their website.
The Lineup and Scheduling Page
I wanted to create a simple way for users to be able to view who is performing at the festival and when, and for them to be able to easily add those artists to a custom schedule. Creating the component for this was definitely a challenge to figure out, but the result came out looking great and would be simple enough for developers to implement.
The Interactive Map Page
In the research our group did, we discovered that users thought the festival map was the most important aspect of the app due to it eliminating the need to carry around a physical map of the festival. I recreated the festival map that MeowWolf made and made all of the icons of the map interactive. If a user wants to know what an icon on the map stands for, all they have to do is tap on it to reveal it's meaning. This eliminates the need to have a separate map legend overlay that would cover the map from view, causing the user to have to switch between viewing the legend or the map.
That is all on this project for now, there are a few other pages that I redesigned but these are the pieces I am most proud of. Let me know what you think :) Be gentle.
