Baby Su - logo design
Upon the success of Lazy Su, the owners wanted to explore a more casual dining experience for the much younger target audiences.
A fortune cat (a.K.A. Maneki-neko) was chosen as the logo design— picked from a wall of fortune cat decorations by the seating booth within the Lazy Su restaurant, to represent the connection between Baby Su and Lazy Su.
To retain the overall theme of the restaurant, i have decided to take on a manga-style approach to the logo design. I wanted more versatility for the logo to be used for marketing collaterals such as stickers and possibly apparel, hence, using simple strokes rather than a detailed illustration. An alternative logo depicting the Japanese pictorial maxim ‘the three wise monkeys' was presented to the client and eventually acquired by the client.
