irlDebo Twitch Channel Branding

irlDebo is a Twitch channel that streams competitive and casual gaming (mainly with Call of Duty). While working on these branding materials as part of a freelance opportunity, I learned a lot of new information about formatting for streaming programs and what content creators look for in terms of design and visual identity.

I started out by talking with Debo himself about what he was looking for. I found out he really wanted to lean into a samurai inspired theming that incorporated a variety of blacks, grays, and reds. We discussed different options throughout multiple Zoom calls where I was able to show him rough sketches and ideas to understand how he was viewing all the material and what direction he wanted to go in.

As we neared the end of the project, I found that I was able to create a wide crop of designs assets, including everything from banners to custom emoticons that his viewers can use while watching his streams. I personally enjoyed creating custom asset, like a video frame for his dog (who he can show during his streams using a separate camera, and an animated emoticon of an angry, which helped me delver further into the motion graphics tools that are included with ProCreate. It was a perfect chance to gain experience working on materials that users will interact with and to collaborate with a client on visuals that they're excited about.
