36 Days of Type *IN PROGRESS

36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and visual artists to express their unique interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet.

The annual open competition explores the creative limits of letterforms by inviting participants to create letters and numbers every day for 36 consecutive days. The result is a global and simultaneous act that demonstrates the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands of different perspectives.

Limitations are only in our heads

Since I am constantly limiting myself when creating new projects, even in this one I immediately caught myself building a framework for this project as well. "All the letters have to be the same size and centered, right?" - "Of course not!" So instead of blindly following the rules I had made up, I immediately wrote down the rules that I have to break every day during challenge!:)

Random palette

The challenge for me was to add some randomness by accepting the first randomly generated palette. The same thing happened with the second and third random palette. In the end, I agreed to the fifth one :)

.Moodboard

I chose a general theme for this year's project, and it is Aroid plants, as this year I  interested in caring for indoor plants, and this type is one of my favorites. You definitely seen the most popular representative of this species - the monstera.

Perhaps I will choose some characteristic features of these plants as ideas for animation, but I'm not sure.

Stay tuned!
