Let's talk about Rive ✍
What is Rive and why is it better than Lottie (JSON).
It is software being used by Duolingo and Figma, and this is just the beginning!
✨ Let's start with the fact that Rive is the Flash on boosters, adapted to our times...
…but for me it is a Figma for Animators.
✨ It is an Animation tool that can create infinite interactive experiences with multiple interconnected animations.
✨ ...which means that as an Animator you can do the work of a developer of a website/application/game or whatever. Your client will be truly happy, and the developer you work with will be grateful that she/he doesn't have to code it.
✨ And all this Magic Tool works in your browser, you don't have to install anything, you don't have to have the latest graphics cards and infinite RAM.
Okay, but for who is this tool for and what is so special about it? 🤔
⚡ As an Animator, you will no longer be limited by tools, when your client asks about something, you will answer - Sure, I can do it.
⚡ As a Developer, you are able to quickly understand the secrets of how animation works and create interactive animations yourself. This software is super easy to learn.
⚡ Rive is by far the easiest and most forward-thinking tool set to improve your static vectors or rasters.
⚡ Solutions of the tools work much better than in other softwares we know so far (After Effects for example). I've been working in After Effects for 13 years and I know what I'm talking about.
⚡ In 2022 I created entire game/app using JSON files, today I know that using RIVE I would do it 3x faster and 2x better.
Here it's that game: https://www.behance.net/gallery/179997865/Who-Farted
⚡ I convinced some of my current clients to use Rive in their animations and they are delighted with the effect and...
⚡…small file size. Rive animations along with interactions can weigh much less than JSON files.
⚡ File export takes place in... a second. Whether files for client review or MP4, GIF, WebM, PNG Seq animations. No more neverending rendering from After Effects.
Okay, but what is Rive used for? 😮
From my experience, there are several very important segments that will use this software a lot in 2024:
💡 Web Industry, UI/UX (I'm currently creating my website, most of which was made in Rive)
💡 Apps (like this one in video)
💡 Game Industry, from creating entire 2d games to the UI/UX to the 3d
(Rive runs in Unity and you can export entire animated assets with interactions)
💡 Motion Design
💡 Interactive installations, Museums, Art Galleries and everything what need interactive
💡 Advertising Industry
What are your thoughts? Do you think Rive will conquer 2024? ✅
