14/50: The Dragon Playground
From the early 1970s to 1990s, Singapore's HDB introduced locally designed playgrounds at the heart of housing estates. The most famous of them all, the dragon playground located at Blk 28 Toa Payoh Lorong 6, was erected in 1979 and designed by then HDB in-house designer Mr Khor Ean Ghee. Today, the Dragon is an almost extinct species, standing as one of the less than 20 remaining locally designed playgrounds.
