Altered Vision is an e-commerce website that is currently in production. The purpose of the website is to promote artists of any level from beginning to professional. As I was developing the website I arrived at the question of how would a website get exposure. The internet is a vast world, it’s easy for a website to be drowned by competition. The best way to get the word out is through an ad campaign.
I created three types of ads for the website, one being a billboard/poster to be placed in a city, bookstore, video game store, etc. The other two ads are digital media ads promoted through other websites.
The first design of the two is a simple square-shaped digital ad to be placed in smaller areas of the website's advertising section. It includes one of the faux artist's designs and in the design, I placed a dialogue for the character in the artwork. I then added the logo for the website (this I created separately) and added the context for the sales promotion of the site.
A short-sized banner was the second choice I made for the design. The purple diamond is an iconic centerpiece for the website and I wanted this image to be the place in which the audience recognizes the site. Adding a catchy phrase for the promotion, I strategically placed the wording in a manner that brings the audience to think of reading the same verse in two different ways. This relates to the theme of looking at various pieces of art.
The last design is where I put most of my creativity in place. In the shape of the websites logo, I created a collage of the many art pieces that will be displayed in the website. For the background, I chose an analogous color scheme to bring vibrance to the design. Simplicity is another technique I favor, which is the reason I utilized a thin like font and spaced the letters out to make it seem elegant.
Images used for the purposes of the design were taken from royalty-free image sources. These images were photographed or illustrated by an artist who has kindly shared their work for others to use. I’d like to honor their dedication with links to their images below:
