Character with a legend - Artist

This work was done for PIXEL Online Illustration School for the task of "Character with a Legend".

The legend that I chose was for my own website and it is as follows:

"Make a young artist for a website that sells artworks. Ginger hair, glasses. She is friendly, calm and creative. When she isn't painting, she is just an ordinary girl, but creativity and art is her superpower".

I chose to depict the girl thinking on the chair, with an unfinished canvas next to her which showcases her climbing an obstacle with a paintbrush and a palette in hand. She has a strong and confident stand with the brush pointing up, like a flag when mountain climbers reach the top of the mountain. Surrounding the main character and her canvas are other art supplies.

This illustration went through a long process of work, but every moment was enjoyable for me. The thing that I probably like the most about this illustration is that it is a "transformer". Some layers can be hidden to reveal a different artwork. For example, the surroundings can be hidden and only the artist with her canvas left, which makes it very good for website design.

The initial sketch was made on Procreate on iPad, and then transferred to Illustrator
