What is Vegansk?

Its a responsive website that allows users to search for their product at ICA's assortment and find out if the product is 100% vegan or not! Cool ha?!

Team: We were a team of 4 Ux designer students, and 4 Java developers students.

Duration: Project took us 3 months to deliver as a part of our (Agile workflow) course.  

Research & Problem statement

After physical and digital interviews we made with target group which were both new and experienced vegans, and a follow up discussion with the team, we defined the main problem they go through which was: it's hard for vegans to make sure if the product at the market is really vegan or not. 

​

Vegans, and specially the new ones say that they get confused with all the logos and labels printed on the product packaging, which make their shopping experience unpleasant, or even to a level that they quit being vegan. 

Ideate and finding solution

First step into finding solution was a creative workshop we had UX and Java team to come up with as many solutions as possible.

result was our MVP:

a service that allows users to search for products and find out wether it is vegan or not, in addition to giving alternative for non vegan products!

Our goal is that the new vegan can as simple and quick get a clear answer if their product is vegan or not, and therefore make a buying decision. 

​

As we got deeper with the Agile course, we got introduced to sprints, sprint rolls, Jira website, and retrospectives. It was hugely beneficial to work upon a day to day plan and take equal responsibility, I got to be scum master, product owner and team member under the sprint weeks. 

​

Each sprint had a user story resulted in a new testable function in our website. we made sure that every user story is simple, directed and estimated based on complexity, risk and workload. 

After each sprint we presented our new function, tested it with our target group and took feedback to continue expediently.

Wireframes and End Product 

Design Document

Moving to the designing stage, our main goal was to represent feelings like: calmness, security and trust, thats why we went for more neutral colours with a bit of freshness in it. 

While designing the wireframes and functions placement we utilized simplicity and minimalism.  

Our "in-stor" scenario the persona wanted to know as soon as possible if the noodles they are holding is vegan or not. we wanted to provide a service that gives answer clear and direct, no bullshit. Thats why, the product evaluation "vegan" and "Inte vegan" is clear to see and understand. Other functions we had is: write a review, report a product or service and find alternatives.

The feedback we got out of the usability testing was so positive and a succé. Users could easily understand, review and report a product. They said its time saving and very helpful!
