Knights of the Pub Table Tartan

Tartan design for the Knights of the Pub Table, a US military veteran and family member organization of crafters and gamers who periodically engage in volunteer activities to help veterans with projects, event coordinators/attendees for events in the Northwest Florida area throughout the year and travel as an organization to attend various renaissance, Celtic and civic festivals and activities across the U.S.

The tartan factors in the RGB values of the 14 various representative colors of the US armed forces branches to generate a 5 color pallet. RGB average of 4 variations of blue, RGB value of white, for the white, grey and silver, RGB value of gold, RGB average of the variations of red, and RGB value of black.

The color combinations are as follows, Black and Gold (Army veterans), Blue and Gold (Navy veterans) Gold and Red (Marine veterans), Red, White and Blue (Coast Guard veterans), Blue and Silver (Air Force veterans), Silver, Black and Blue (Space Force veterans).

Space Force Veteran's "Beyond the Blue"

As a 24 year US Air Force Master Sergeant (Ret), honoring the history of the service branches that led to the creation of the Space Force was key to this design. As a Graphic Designer, a Scotsman and Airman, it was important to pay respect to the youngest service of the US Armed Forces, and imperative to give it a distinctive and handsome design from it's sister services.

As with all tartan patterns of symmetrical design this tartan starts in the very center of the pattern and moves diagonally outwards to the corner.

The pattern starts with OD Green to represent the green plant life of our planet and it is also a nod to the beginnings of where the youngest service branch started, which, at its heart honors the rich history and legacy of those veterans who came before. The green is surrounded with a hue of blue to represent the oceans which is bordered by a thin white band representing the clouds and sky of our planet. The white contrasts starkly with the black of space which transitions to another small band of white representing the stars and orbits of the equipment these veterans have maintained and operated and looked upon in the darkest reaches of our solar system and beyond.

Finally, the last field of black, grey, and blue are the three colors of service for which these veterans have served, a rich and virtually endless history in the domain of space. The pattern is symmetrical, and it repeats endlessly, representing the journey which the equipment, the signals/data, and our Space Force Veterans/Veteran-Guardians have and will travel to space and return to our planet time and time again.

Much like the US Air Force Tartan which is unofficially called the "Billy Mitchell" Tartan in his honor, this particular design is dedicated to and and likewise will be called "Col Anthony Zillinsky tartan" after U.S. Space Force Col. Anthony Zilinsky III.
