"Dorćol" Boxing Club - Logo and Branding

A logo for a newly opened boxing club based in Belgrade, Serbia. I was lucky to be given full artistic freedom, so after extensive research on famed and notable boxing and kickboxing gyms from the region of former Yugoslavia as well as their respective unions, along with influences from the very successful USSR teams, I've decided to approach this project with a nod to those bygone clubs that once held the highest esteem in the world of "the Sweet Science". So my take was that of a brutalist one with a hint of geometry to emulate the "squared circle" or "the Ring" in which many a pugilists have tested themselves against one another. The colours chosen are that of the neighbourhood "Dorćol" ([dɔ̝̌rt͡ɕɔ̝ɫ], phonetically) from which this gym proudly borrows it's name.
