I chose to create an advertisement for a manga book, specifically a neuroscience manga that can show the inner thoughts and emotions of its characters. For the initial draft, I used an iPad Pro with a 2048 by 2732-pixel artboard and a light cyan gradient background. The centerpiece of the design was an image of a brain with a pink border, accompanied by text explaining the unique features of neuroscience manga and the event date. However, I received feedback suggesting that the initial design focused too much on the AI and brain aspects and recommended removing quotation marks and periods. In response, I changed the ad to emphasize the immersive experience it offers, describing it as something that will literally leave you breathless. The design now takes on a more comic book-style layout, with a slim black rectangular box on the left, saying it is the best way to experience the story. The background was transformed into a checkerboard pattern, which is meant to be negative space, with two slanted triangles in shades of pink and purple, drawing from the manga's made up cover art, "Neon Odyssey." Additionally, once the viewer reads the title their eyes will go to the text below it which directs to the image which has pink sharp lines to the left and below it that points back up which goes towards more text. The new text, all in the Grandstander font, is presented in exclamation speech bubbles, adding a dynamic and exciting element to the ad.
