Companion app for a smart massage gun.

Have you ever bought a smart home appliance that has smartphone integration? Remember the anticipation that now there will be "magic," and you will control everything in your home? If this has happened to you, then you definitely know the bitterness of disappointment in the poor quality of a mobile application. From my experience, 90% of smart device apps are so poorly designed that you want to uninstall them after a few minutes of using them. Unfortunately, manufacturers treat the application development poorly and make it sometimes just for a "tick" in the features list.

In 2021, Orthomechanik GmbH contacted us for a simple companion app for the Orthomechanik massage gun (OrthoGun). The first version had to be a simple app with video lessons: how to use the device, and different massages that you can do with it. Among the cool features was an interactive human body scheme, where you can choose a muscle/part of the body and see the video on how to massage that muscle.

The app received very positive customer feedback and even got users from other manufacturers massage guns, which shows how successful this app is. In the first months, it got more than 10k users with an average rating of 4.9/5.

We are really proud of this project. It is an excellent example of how you can make a great application for your users with a small budget.
