Network Configuration Redesign
Hi viewer,
Configuration is the most critical application in any network management software. It is used with very careful judgement by highly trained & capable network engineers and errors in the workflow can have unimaginably severe consequences.
Focused & exposed landing page
The entire Configuration application has been moved inside a focused layout without any distractions of other software-related menus and links etc.
The entire structure of the application is flattened up to two levels and presented as one mega menu as a page for quicker access to relevant section and subsections of the application.
Forms in slide-in panel
Instead of hopping from one page to another to carry out configurations and thus causing page loads, all the configuration-related forms have been moved into a slide-in panel that offers great in-panel navigation, search and form interaction.
Form Redesign
Without disturbing the formally established structure of configuration-related forms, highly usability-centric graphic design principles have been applied to redesign the layout, typography, colours, and helpfulness of these forms to support novice network managers.
Minor Design Details
Minor Design Detail #1/2: Slide-in Panel Search
The search experience of the slide-in panel's sidebar has been enhanced to support a deeply nested information architecture
#2/2: CTA Button micro-interaction & microcopy
The CTA button in all of the Configuration-related forms that confused many users regarding the state of the new settings/changes was redesigned from scratch using the most suitable micro-interactions and microcopy.
