"Get started" animation
This is a simple approach to welcoming users when they open an app for the first time.
One of the constraints of Pixate is the ability to animate blur effects, specifically the signature iOS blur that allows you to communicate z-axis. I developed a work around for this where you create two layers: one that has the blur applied, another that doesn't. You then animate a fade-in of the blurred layer.
The whole process of getting this on Dribbble was pretty involved (probably a better way?).
1. I mocked up the screen in Sketch and then bounced all of the layers as PNGs.
2. Laid everything out in Pixate and configured the animations.
3. Opened the prototype on my iPhone and used Quicktime to record a video of the prototype in action (Pixate app).
4. Grabbed an After Effects template file from uxinmotion.net - going to create custom ones in the future.
5. Placed the video recorded on Quicktime into the template.
6. Exported using Adobe Media Encoder to an mp4 (no gif export)
7. Went to ezgif.com, converted the mp4 to gif and resized it to Dribble's 300x400.
