City of Glendale – City Logo Design

Our proposed city logo redesign for the City of Glendale, CA. Glendale was named "the Jewel City" by Chamber of Commerce president Edward U. Emery in the early 1900s. He said the city "sparkled like a jewel in the sun." To this day the city is still referred to as the Jewel City, and many local businesses use this in their names.

It felt right to use this as inspiration when designing the mark. We wanted to give a nod to Glendale's history as we design a more clean, modern logo. We hope this logo would help provide a unique identity for the city and be an anchor for locals to show their pride of living there.
