Star Wars as old film titles

Full Project here: Star Wars as Old Film Titles on Bēhance

Opening titles to the original Star Wars (A New Hope, before it was really called that) reimagined to emulate the style of the opening titles of old Academy Award winning films starting with 1928’s Wings.
Some of these original opening titles by no mean match the look and feel of Star Wars, but that was part of the fun of it — this little project is an exercise in old layout trends, type recreation, as well as texture, color and grain simulation in Photoshop. Most of the titles and type layout was done in Illustrator first, and then brought over to Photoshop for the effects/aging process. I only used HD screenshots from Star Wars, an old 20th Century Fox logo where needed and some existing typefaces depending on the image. The rest is created type by me and effects.

This cover title is of the Cimarron (1933) treatment (original film title image)
