Inner Circle Pitch Deck Collateral

The client

Currently in development, My Inner Circle is a private and secure photo-sharing app offering users the ability to upload, curate, and share media while supporting climate change initiatives.

The problem

In order to raise funds for this project, we needed to create a visual representation of the product that could be shared with senior leadership and potential investors. These mockups should highlight important features of the application and showcase a brand identity that appeals to our target users.

The solution

I worked with the marketing and UX research teams to create an end-user avatar to streamline our efforts. We prepared, delivered, and analyzed the results of a user survey that we distributed to more than 200 potential users.

From that survey, we discovered that while 85% of respondents used dedicated photo sharing applications to share memories with their friends and family, only half of them were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with those apps. We also learned that “ease of use” and “share-ability” were the two most important features that users wanted to see in a photo sharing app—these were two things we knew we definitely wanted to highlight in our product.

And finally, demographic research from this survey allowed us to construct an avatar that was female, a parent, and between the ages of 45 and 64.

We filtered this data and tried to find a direction for this product. To this end, I created some low-fidelity wireframes that sketched out the general layout of the Inner Circle application and also outlined some of our feature flows.

I also created some brand assets and other marketing collateral that I felt aligned with the user avatar that we sketched out in the initial phase of this project. I chose a color palette comprised mainly of pastels in the traditional "baby shower" colors to appeal to the fact that our end-user is most likely a parent using the app to share photos of their children with family and friends.

The result

Iterating upon these initial designs with stakeholders and potential end-users, we were able to define a clear direction for the product and brand.

I used this direction to further develop mid- and high-fidelity product mockups that the My Inner Circle team can now use in pitch decks and other marketing collateral to raise funds for (and awareness of) this new project.
