Europe Travels

Instead of having photos taking up storage and collecting digital dust on my camera, laptop, or phone forever, I decided to create an art book that encased one of my photographed memories and travels with my mother. For the design, I was inspired by Anni Albers work, Knot (1947), and by documenting the amount of traveling my mother and I did on this trip. The process became mapping out our travels, dropping string organically from point to point, tracing the formed shape, and then bringing it into Illustrator to create a digital asset. The string shapes were then brought into the book's design and can be found dancing from page to page.
