Risoles are called roinsolles or the Dutch call rissole, it was the Dutch who brought this food to their homeland during the colonial period. Risoles cake is a favorite cake of the nation's children, and this cake in Europe has been around since the 13th century. Risoles are pastries filled with meat, usually minced meat, and vegetables wrapped in an omelette, and deep fried after being coated in flour and beaten egg. Two types of risoles known in Indonesia are vegetable risoles mixed with stir-fried meat, and ragout filled risoles. The shape of this cake is rectangular like an envelope. Triangular shaped risoles generally contain ragout. Risoles can be eaten with peanut sauce, bottled chili sauce, or bird's eye chilies.
