Personal illustrations on diaphragmatic breathing in sophrology

The objective of this personal project was to practise editorial illustration for wellness books.

I picked one the fundamental tools of sophrology which is breathing. Diaphragmatic breathing involves breathing deep into the stomach. It can help reduce blood pressure and heart rate and therefore relieve stress.

Illustrating the physical effects of breathing on the body is quite subtle. That is why I used a balloon as a metaphor for the belly inflating due to the diaphragmatic breathing.
