Improving Spotify's rewind interaction

Spotify has always had a problem. As you get the phone in and out of your pocket, or simply prepare to play another song for later, you lose context. And for obsessive listeners like me, having to open the current song's full screen in order to find the touch player and rewind is too much work.

I asked myself how I could handle that interaction from the first screen I see when I unlock my phone, and do it in a way that is swift and doesn't require me to aim for a tiny little handle on a line. By leveraging the best pattern of what used to be my favorite music app, Soundcloud's soundwave.

I've had these designs parked somewhere for years but finally decided to take some time and turn them into an animation, hacking the prototyping feature of Figma and exporting it with the "Export to GIF/Video" plugin (thank you for the watermark).

If you have any workflow or tool suggestion to make nice animations with Figma designs, I'm all hears! Using After Effect with Figma is pretty terrible.
