TwoCan - Collaborative list app

TwoCan is a collaborative list sharing app where you can invite friends to add or tick-off items as a team. And it’s not just for the supermarket run; TwoCan helps with holiday planning, work schedules, party-prepping – pretty much anything.

Add, create, swipe, done. It’s that easy.

TwoCan allows friends, family and colleagues to chip-in and share the load. When the sun’s out and the rush for hotdog buns is on! When you’re the first at the festival campsite and there’s not a tent peg in sight! When it’s Sunday lunch and the horseradish is running low.

A list shared is a problem halved!

Making collaborative lists with TwoCan is fun and easy. When creating the logo, this had to be reflected visually. The symmetrical, abstract toucan symbol was designed to have a Venn diagram quality suggesting mutual goals.

The brand mark would also have to be identifiable at icon scale and have enough personality to stand out from a saturated screen of apps! For this reason a bold, simple style of vector illustration was employed combined with a primary palette for maximum recognition and ‘thumb candy’ appeal.

When you join the TwoCan family, you are assigned a feathered friend as an avatar. Obviously, you can use your social images too so don’t worry if you’re still using that picture from the late 90s.

These custom avatars were a great opportunity to extend the playful visual language, but it also performed the important job of identifying collaborators and improving the user experience.
