The CalGrows website is a comprehensive platform designed to empower caregivers in California. From a design perspective, our goal was to create a user-friendly and inviting digital space that conveys a sense of support, growth, and opportunity. The website caters to a diverse audience of caregivers, including unlicensed caregivers, certified home care aides (HCAs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and friends/family caregivers.
Design Elements:
Warm and Inclusive Color Palette: We chose a warm color scheme, featuring soft blues, gentle greens, and soothing earth tones. These colors evoke feelings of trust, compassion, and growth, making visitors feel welcome and at ease.
Accessible Layout: Our design prioritizes accessibility to ensure that caregivers of all backgrounds and abilities can easily navigate the site. Clear typography and ample spacing enhance readability.
Engaging Imagery: Images of caregivers engaging with older adults and people with disabilities in home and community settings are prominently featured. These images highlight the program's real-world impact and create a connection with the target audience.
Clear Navigation: A user-centric navigation structure simplifies the journey for visitors. Key sections, such as "Free Training Courses," "Caregiver Coaching," and "Get Paid," are prominently displayed in the menu for quick access.
Interactive Features: To encourage engagement, we incorporated interactive elements such as a course search and filtering tool. This allows users to easily find relevant training opportunities based on their interests and needs.
Responsive Design: The website is optimized for mobile devices to ensure caregivers can access information and support on the go.
Supportive Messaging: Compelling and empathetic language throughout the site reinforces the program's commitment to caregivers' personal and professional growth.
Contact and Assistance: A clear call-to-action button and contact information are provided for caregivers who want to inquire about eligibility or seek assistance, enhancing user-friendliness.
