I decided to take on a sharpen prompt for a quick mid week project, and eventually landed on "Design a newsletter signup modal, for a nightclub in Brooklyn". And thus the nightclub "Bricks and Mortars" was born. This fictional nightclub is an exclusive experience set up inside the old Brooklyn Army Terminal, built and named satirically as a place that brings people together inside a building that was used for war.

My Design Process

As the website itself wasn't the main focus of the prompt I relied on several different mockups from the internet for inspiration while still maintaining my own little flair to it. I'm proud of how the design came out, but I will admit my design preference for using hero images to tie websites together. Maybe for my next Project I will try something different.

As for the Modal I wanted the interaction to be quick and easy for someone signing up, no need for any frills. A quick email entry form was all that was needed, however I made sure to add a little loading widget to cover for any server loading times if this was a real design.

• One success I had with this design was the modal itself I think it stands out as a really simplistic but concise design

• One skill I want to work on more is definitely responsive web design, figma has some powerful tools that I should start to use more to create native responsiveness in my designs instead of just manually translating the design into a mobile format.
