Mapsy : Real Time Traffic Updates
We were presented with a challenge that required us to create a platform comprising a minimum of two screens, all within a specified time limit. The primary objective of this challenge is to make an application design that provides users with real-time traffic updates. To accomplish this, I drew inspiration from two prominent navigation apps, namely Google Maps and Apple Maps.
By leveraging the familiar and intuitive interfaces of these widely used platforms, I make a design that not only resonates with users but also simplifies their interaction with the application, especially while driving. Recognizing the importance of user-centricity, I want to get the balance between a visually appealing interface and a seamless user experience.
In pursuit of a simplified and intuitive design, I carefully evaluated the key components of both Google Maps and Apple Maps that users find most helpful and impactful :
To ensure the design is optimized for on-the-go usage, I paid meticulous attention to the placement and prominence of essential information such as traffic updates, alternative routes, and estimated arrival times.
Clear and concise visual cues were strategically employed to enable users to access the desired information at a glance, minimizing distractions and facilitating safe interaction with the app while driving.
I also focused on creating a bold yet harmonious color scheme and typography that enhances legibility and clarity in various lighting conditions
