The mathematical concept of 'cardinality' refers to the count of elements within a set or grouping, such as a database. We wanted to reflect this concept within the branding because at the core of the Cardinal product is using data to see at a high level the impact the customer's work is having and allowing for better road mapping, planning, and allocation of resources. We represented this by stacking layers that could be interpreted as a database or multiple pages. The backslash command is the primary user interaction to trigger these workflows.
