Sharing something special today,
With Starfield being officially out now, I wanted to share some early animation concepts for the collective watch face.
We made a lot of changes to the interactions and information architecture during the design process. I aimed to incorporate some retro-futurism aesthetics, with a combination of sharp brutalist visual design choices. Furthermore, we decided to retain much of the initial interaction work in the final product.
In interaction design, one of the key principles is the concept of continuity between different sections of the interface. This approach seeks to convey that the interface is dynamic and active, even when the user is not interacting with it. By doing so, it creates the impression of a living world within the interface, even when it is paused.
