LEGO - Magazine Ad Design

OBJECTIVE

To create a magazine ad for a company of your choice. Create the ad by using the photo-bashing technique using various photos and manipulate them to create a completely new image.

PROCESS

I first started by creating the initial building out of LEGO as this would be quicker to do. I then went and selected different pieces of the tower to add different colours, textures, etc. This was to keep with the idea how when kids play with LEGO pieces how the colours and sizes are different and assorted.

For building components such as doors and windows, I wanted them to be realistic but also at the same time resemble sticker decals that you see in LEGO building kits.

To tie it all up I close cropped a hill setting and placed over a city scape backdrop, to give it the effect that it was in closer view from

the camera taking the shot. I then brought it over into InDesign where I placed the logo and main heading where I wanted them. I chose to go with a simple layout design as I did not want to take away from the photo-bashed image.
