Haus Paint - Package Design

OBJECTIVE

To design a logo for Haus Paint that is simple and modern. Create a universal design template to be used on paint cans that reflect the products colour.

PROCESS

I first started by researching other brand name paint can designs and logos to get an idea of how I could take a more creative approach to the typical bland look that paint cans usually look like. For the logo, I went with a simple and modern approach by incorporating a simple house with a window frame and added some paint droplets to the bottom of the logo to tie into the Haus Paint name. I went with this design as I felt it would create a strong visual identity for the brand and product.

For the paint can design, I wanted to go with a different approach that was more creative and fit more with the experience that comes with house painting. I decided to go with a brush texture background for the design and then would adjust the brightness and colours to match the paint colour of the product, for instance, if it was a light blue I would adjust the colour to resemble light blue so its easier to identify when displayed on the shelf. I wanted to keep the overall content on the paint can to a minimum as paint will evidently splatter or cover the paint can.
