PeopleFinders — Identity Monitoring I
Hey Dribbblers!
Here's a sneak peek at the dashboard of PeopleFinders Identity Monitoring, a service that leverage a comprehensive public records database to check your report (if claimed) for changes found in your personal information, monitors all known corporate data breaches, and send you instant alerts if your personal data was compromised or at risk.
With PeopleFinders Identity Monitoring, you can track the breaches you’ve been involved in, follow steps to protect yourself, and mark a breach as “resolved” when you’re ready for some satisfying closure. Scroll down to review your breaches, and once you feel like you’re ready to put a breach behind you, click the “Mark breach as resolved” link — it feels as good as it looks. When resolving a breach, you’ll be brought to the data breach overview page, which has steps to take to protect your information. For instance, if a password was compromised in a breach, it would be safest to change that password right away.
Back at your dashboard, you’ll find a the top of the page actionable security metrics to give you a clear snapshot of your current security stance, and your most recent security health score so you can keep track of your online protection (and feel good about that progress, too). These tailored insights enable rapid identification of potential vulnerabilities, ensuring you're well-equipped to boost your online security.
What to do after a data breach
Getting notified that you’ve been a victim of a data breach can be alarming. You have valid cause for concern, but there are a few steps you can take immediately to protect your account and limit the damage.
Read the details about the breach
Read closely to learn what happened. What personal data of yours was included? Your next steps will depend on what information you need to protect. When did the breach happen? You may receive the notice months or even years after the data breach occurred. Sometimes it takes awhile for companies to discover a breach. Sometimes breaches are not immediately made public.
Be smart
PeopleFinders Identity Monitoring keep you alert to breaches, and help you take steps to keep your personal info safe and protect your digital identity. At the end of the day, there is little any of us can personally do to stop data breaches. The longer you’ve lived online, the bigger your digital footprint, and with that comes greater security risks. However, there is plenty we can do to protect ourselves in anticipation of one, such as creating strong, unique passwords from the start, checking your credit reports for suspicious activity, and monitoring bank statements for charges you don’t recognize.
