Musseden Temple Illustrative Pattern
A passion project, taking a pen illustration and creating it into a repeat pattern for home decor and design.
But why?
I have always loved illustrating architecture, especially old stately homes. Musseden Temple has been a place in Northern Ireland I have loved for as long as I can remember. So of course naturally, I wanted to incorporate it into a repeat pattern.
Owning my own gifting boutique, I am always creating new products incorporating my skills and expertise.
Just so we are on the same page, this was my reference:
But how?
Firstly, I began the illustration on paper using a biro pen. Once I was complete, I scanned the design and edited it within Photoshop.
After tinkering with the colours and saturation- I had my design sitting perfectly! From there I then began to construct the repeat pattern, joining the illustrations seamlessly together.
Finally, I wanted to try a more muted colour palette, rather than bold black, and that is how I arrived to my final piece as seen above!
