In July 2022, I was approached by a digital marketing company specializing in promoting books for Indie Authors on Amazon. Their request was for me to design various promotional products.

The list of items included:

• A pen featuring the company's tagline, "Seize the means of production."

• A minimalist logo design for a notebook cover.

• A custom rubber stamp design for the notebook's interior.

• A design for an Uncon Event tote.

• Prints for agendas and signups.

Design Evolution

The journey involved collaborating with manufacturers to refine the designs for optimal style and functionality. Several iterations were explored before arriving at the final designs that successfully combined aesthetics and practicality.

Uncon Tote Design

One intriguing aspect of the project was the Uncon Tote Design. Given that the event was hosted by the Book Whisperer and held in Italy, the design aimed to capture the event's essence and location. I incorporated the colors, symbols, and layout of the European Union flag along with the city and country details.

Event Paper Materials

Another crucial aspect was creating print materials for event attendees, including agendas and signup forms. These designs played a pivotal role in conveying event information and facilitating attendee engagement.

Reflections on the Project

Looking back at this project, I recognize the effort I invested in delivering valuable materials for both the client and the event.

As my first complete project, I appreciated:

• The chance to create diverse designs in various formats for a singular event.

• Collaborating with a client related to literature, a field I studied in college, adding a personal touch to the project.

• The creative freedom to shape the visual identity of the materials.

I also learned valuable lessons:

• The significance of meticulously documenting the design process.

• The critical importance of maintaining clear and consistent communication with the client throughout the project's duration.
