Learning Team Style Guide is a content resource that I created for my team at Instacart.

Overview

In my role as a Content and Program Manager, I recognized the need for a cohesive and user-friendly resource that would not only streamline content creation but also ensure consistency in our Shopper Learning materials. To address this, I spearheaded the development and implementation of the Shopper Learning Style Guide, a comprehensive guide tailored to our team's needs.

Challenge

The team's work required a unified reference point to maintain a consistent brand voice, design elements, and content structure across various learning materials. Additionally, with a growing team, it was essential to provide efficient training on utilizing the style guide effectively.

Solution

I took the initiative to create the style guide, a comprehensive document that encapsulated our brand standards, content tone, voice guidelines, design principles, and best practices. To make it easily accessible, I organized the guide with a user-friendly table of contents and included a cheat sheet summarizing the most crucial guidelines.

Implementation

To ensure successful adoption, I conducted training sessions for the team, showcasing the guide's importance and demonstrating how to navigate and apply its principles effectively. Through interactive virtual workshops, team members gained hands-on experience in using the guide for content creation, design decisions, and overall content alignment.

Results

Our team achieved a newfound sense of consistency across learning materials, resulting in a stronger brand identity and improved user experience. Secondly, the ease of reference provided by the organized structure and cheat sheet significantly reduced the time spent searching for guidelines.
