KAPOLART logotype design
Committed to creating meaningfully designed clothing, KAPOLART focusses on bringing the beauty of everyday things to the fore of fashion. In order to achieve this, they needed to redesign their logo from a handwritten, signature-style script to something more luxurious and clean.
The name KAPOLART comes from an amalgamation of three sources - KA, from the start of the founder’s first name Kacper; POL, short for Poland where the founder is from and ART to denote the field KAPOLART operates. The brief was very specific about how the new logo should look in order to align with the goals of the business. It needed to be modern, high-end and infer sustainability.
Kacper also mentioned that he sees the redesign being a logotype/wordmark so once I completed my research, I set to work coming up with unique executions that fit with the briefing criteria. I soon settled on the version you see here which gives off the luxe impression through the all caps and wide tracking but also nods to the environment with the subtle leaf shapes hidden in the bowls of the P and R (also reflected in the A’s).
Once I was happy with the type design, I set to work on the various versions of the logo and the colour palette. Kacper was clear on the colours he liked - specifically earthy tones and desaturated blue/green hues. I created this complimentary natural palette by basing each colour on different environments. Nature always works best with nature!
