River City Roots Festival Logo and Poster

This was a poster and logo design I created for this year's annual River City Roots Festival for the Missoula Downtown Association. It was both a fun and very challenging project to complete - I originally submitted 3 different ideas for this project. The one that was chosen was most alike years past, but with it's own spin off of simplified organic and folky flare.

For the subject matter I really focused on three things: making it festive, showing the past in a new way and the feel of the river itself (Clark Fork). For colors, I drew on the surrounding environment and tried to to stick to primary colors with an aged rustic feeling - like golden-hour coloring.
