Story behind The MotorSurgical Diaries and the mugs:

Polly and Daniel will travel 20,000 miles unsupported on a 1980s BMW R80G/S Paris Dakar motorcycle, through almost 20 countries beginning in Ushuaia, Argentina in October 2015 and ending in Anchorage, Alaska approximately one year later.

They will be undertaking the expedition in aid of a UK based charity, Facing the World. In addition, they'll visit rural hospitals in South and Central America with a view to establishing novel academic surgical relations with London based plastic and reconstructive and maxillofacial surgeons in an attempt to improve awareness, establish surgical techniques and enhance the provision of care in the aforementioned hospitals.
